I loved my time at Campfornis doing work with AWCRC and Durham’s PPP. I came to Campfornis after college to gain more hands-on field research experience and was absolutely able to grow my skills. Not only did I get to take part in a number of pre-existing projects, but I was also able to work with Ellen Soeters to design and carry out our own project, which we hope to publish. Leah provides strong research mentorship and encourages you to pursue your own interests. I loved the range of projects being carried out here — from ecological conservation work to primate behavioural studies, to multidisciplinary research on human-wildlife interactions. Living with Braam and René and the three de Klerk boys made this experience particularly special, as I felt welcomed into their family.
