I spent 3 months at AWCRC between August and November 2021. Most of my time was spent helping a PhD student habituate two troops of baboons which involved daily follows through the bush whilst recording data. I was also able to help on other projects, including collecting behavioural data on a troop that used the local dump as a food source and conducting crop preference experiments. I used my holiday time to visit the beautiful Mapungubwe and Kruger National Parks which were a particular highlight. I learned a lot during my time at AWCRC and would definitely recommend them to anyone interested in primate research.
