Do the Kruger and Blyde river canyon with us! The AWCRC would like to invite visitors to South Africa to experiences some of the extraordinary landscapes and parks in our beautiful country! As part of this project we have put together a small tour of the Kruger National Park and the Blyde river Canyon and surrounds.

Breakdown

Your trip will include:

Vehicle plus tour guide: Braam, Maria or Morena

Fuel costs & All Accommodation, Entrance and conservation fees at Kruger,Burke’s Luck potholes, God’s window, Blyde River Canyon Nature reserve and other panorama route entries.


South African continental breakfast consisting of coffee and rusks

The costs can be decreased if you choose tent accommodation options in Kruger

The Gorge lift adventure centre is not included and all restaurant meals are extra.

Start

Travel begins at the AWCRC home base in Alldays. 

Day1

Punda Maria Gate

Drive to Kruger National Park via Makhado to Punda Maria Gate. Notable sights are the Waterpoort pass,Verwoerd Tunnels and Soutpansberg, the landscape changes rapidly from dry and arid to the much wetter lowveld region of South Africa.

Kruger day 1

After entry at Punda Maria we traverse the Northern Kruger via Shingwedzi ,moving down towards overnight accomodation, Usually in Mopani Rest Camp depending on avaiablility. 

130 Km - 3 to 4 hour drive

Kruger day 2

Leaving Mopani early we travel to the central Kruger, with a mid morning stop for some breakfast at Olifants rest Camp, one of the better views in the kruger from the deck on the river edge cliffs. From there we drive to Tshokwane Trading post for a mid afternoon break and finally down to Lower Sabie Rest camp and all along the River to Skukuza for our next overnight stop.

283 km - 6 to 8 hour drive

Last leg to Numbi

Leaving Skukuza we start the long goodbye to Kruger, travelling the last leg of the South out to Numbi with quick stopovers in Stevenson Hamilton  and Mathekenyane Hill and  depending on the sightings board...a last chance to see wild dogs!

65km - 2 to 3 Hours total duration

Lisbon and the escarpment

After departing the Kruger we head to our next overnigh accomodation at Lisbon Eco Lodge, on the way we have the chance to visit the Graskop Gorge Adventure Centre and maybe take the Big Swing! for the faint of hart there is alweays the Gorge lift and forest walk...

65 km - 2 to 3 hours total duration

Panorama Route

Today we can exsplore the extraordinary landscapes of the blyde river canyon and Mpumalanga Escarpment. We visit Gods Window, Lisbon Falls, Berlin Falls, Bourkes luck potholes and if time allows we can do the Belvedere Trail to Deintjie Falls and old hydro plant...only for the really adventurous though! 

110 km - All day

Homeward Bound

We say goodbye to the Eco lodge and start heading home, on the last leg we will visit the breathtaking Three Rondawels lookout before heading back. On the way home we will go through the strydom tunnels and through a rich fruit and nut gwowing region of South Africa all the way via Tzaneen, Modjajis Kloof and finally back to Allday!
